BACK TO SCHOOL: WHAT'S IN MY SCHOOLBAG?

Okay, so the time is nigh and we will soon all be back to school, but before you go back make sure you have all the essentials that you need in your school bag. To help you out we decided to do a ‘what’s in your school bag’ post so here we go …

1st of all we have the most important thing, the school bag itself. Mine is a navy and white polka dot bag with tan leather detailing. It can be used as a shoulder bag or with the attachable strap it can be used as a cross body bag. The bag has one outer pocket on the front and another pocket inside as well as a mobile phone and iPod compartment so there is plenty of storage room. I purchased this bag from Primark for around £15. These are my favourite types of school bag because they are so big and I have a lot to fit in there … as you will see.

2ndly I have 4 folders which make up the bulk of my school bag. I have one for each of my A level subjects, I decided to go for cute and girly folders as I find that if the folder is pretty then I somehow enjoy the subject more. I know, it is really strange, but if you are crazy like me or not crazy and just like nice folders then get yourself down to Paperchase, Wilkinsons and WHSmiths to get some cutesy folders which will really brighten up your locker.

3rd is my pencil case and notebook. I bought both of these both from Wilkinsons while they were in the sale. The pencil case has 3 compartments which I find really useful; In compartment one I store all my pens, pencils, rulers and other stationary which would be used most frequently, in the small middle compartment I have my calculator, protractor and a pair of compasses, finally in the last compartment I store my coloured pencils, glue and scissors. I find it so much easier to work when all of my stationary is organised so then I know where it all is. Why don’t you give organising your pencil case a go? J

4th I have all my little essentials and bits and bobs that I find useful. I like to carry some lip balm, especially in winter when my lips get all chapped and rough. The lip balm I use is Burt’sBees as I find it much more hydrating than other lip balms such as Vaseline which just add a layer of grease; instead Burt’sBees lip balm actually hydrates my lips. I also have a pack of tissues – they don’t need explaining, a hairbrush for the days when my hair goes crazy or it is windy outside, Soap and Glory Mist You Madly body spray because it smells so good, a pack of mini playing cards so my friends and I don’t get bored during lunch and break times, plasters for just in case, a nail file because isn’t it irritating when your nails breaks at school and you can’t sort it out until you get home! And finally some oil blotting sheets for summer to prevent shiny looking skin which is a bit grim.

And last but not least I also carry my mobile and purse because I can’t go anywhere without them. I also have a key ring which I bought from France for my locker keys so fingers crossed I won’t lose them. The very last item in my school bag is a hand sanitizer. I am a bit of a germophobe so I have to carry this around with me, I am hoping that this will reduce the chances of getting ill this winter because whenever we get back to school there is always a cold that goes around to everybody! This has happened every year since year 7 and I always end up catching it, but hopefully this time my hand sanitizer will help to keep me cold free!

This is everything I carry in my school bag, I realise this has been a bit of a long post but I hope that you have enjoyed it. Why don’t you follow us on twitter @The1BeautyBlog and let us know what you keep in your school bag.

SUMMER BEACH ESSENTIALS

Let's go to the Beach - each, let's go get away.....!

Here are our favourite things we like to use on those hot summer days roasting in the sun :)

Clinique After Sun Rescue With Aloe:
This is great for all skin types and is very soothing after a day roasting in the sun. A little goes a long way, it smells great and has a light texture which leaves your skin feeling beautifully hydrated and soothed which is very important for prolonged periods of time outdoors to prevent sun damaged skin. Click here to go to the website.

Tri Swim Anti Chlorine Shampoo:
This is an amazing find which we found online. It is an amazing shampoo that gets rid of chlorine and its odour from your hair which is a pretty good buy for when you go swimming. The shampoo contains aloe which is very moisturising and conditioning for your hair, other ingredients are vitamins E and A and pro-vitamin B5 which removes the green tinge chlorine can give to coloured hair. To find this product click here.

Biotherm Lait Solaire SPF 30:
It is very important to protect your skin in these summer months where the sun can lead to premature aging and skin cancer. This product is light in consistency and melts into the skin and spreads easily with fast absorption which does not leave a sticky residue so you don’t have to worry about sand sticking to your skin. At £16.50 it is a little bit pricey but it is definitely effective and sometimes you can find it on offer in Boots.

Rayban Wayfarer Blue Gradient Light Blue:
We love Rayban’s, they really are the coolest sunglasses out there! They are very stylish and the bright statement gives a modern twist on the traditional Rayban look which is perfect for the beach this summer. Click here for the web page.

Telescopic Water Proof Mascara By Loreal:
A mascara that gives your lashes great length and volume for a fake lash appearance. We love this mascara because of the thin wand which makes sure that every single lash is coated and separated which makes it easier to get the doe eyed look. The waterproof formula does not smudge and is great for this humid weather and days by the pool or in the sea. You can find this product at Boots.

Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Perfume:
This is the epitome of a tropical getaway with overtones of coconut and orange blossom. You should definitely get this to finish of your beach attire and give a fruity yet delicious scent that will give you the confidence of a bronze goddess. We purchased our perfume here.

Chanel Holiday Nail Polish (617):
This orangey red shade is always hot in summer and is a vibrant fun colour for the beach. It looks great with all skin tones if you want to add a pop of colour. The nail polish may be expensive at a price of £17.50 but it is well worth the money as its intense colour and glossy formula is fast drying and long lasting so you don’t have to worry about it chipping on the beach. Our nail polish came from Boots.

Beach Bag:
A statement tote beach bag is essential for any day trips or holidays abroad. We love our bold coral shade bag with contrasting tan leather handles as it really makes your outfit summery, also it is perfect to hold all of your essentials. We got ours from TKMaxx last year but there are many more similar style bags that you can find.

Havaianas Flip Flops:
These are the coolest flip flops you can find; luckily you can get them in many different colours which are very on trend this summer. These comfy flip flops are perfect for walking around town or going to the beach and teamed up with a bright nail polish you will have fab looking feet! Get them here on the Havaianas website.

Bumble And Bumble Surf Spray:
This is great to spray in your hair, it gives you a sexy natural beach wave and reduces frizz which may occur in the humid summer.  All you have to do is spray into your hair and leave it to dry. You only have to make sure that you don’t touch your hair too much as it will cause the surf spray to wear off. We got ours from their official website

Shiseido Sun Protection Lip Treatment With SPF 20:
In the summer months when you are out enjoying the heat, it is easy to forget about your lips. With this Shiseido sun protection lip treatment your lips will be protected from the sun’s UV rays as the SPF 20 in the balm prevents them drying out and cracking. You can find this fab purchase at Boots.

Fekkai Summer Hair After Sun Daily Mask:
The Fekkai hair mask helps to protect your hair from harmful elements when sunning yourself at beach. It has a rich formula that will stop your hair from drying out and keep it silky smooth. It is suitable for all hair types and we highly recommend this product if you want to have luscious locks in the summer times. Our came from their amazing website!

We realise this was rather a long blog post but we hope that you like our beach favourites and it has helped you to prepare for your fun trip to the beach!

Keep on following our blog and also follow our twitter page for extra little things that you won’t find on here!

GUCCI PREMIER PERFUME

After ripping open the gift wrap in what can only be regarded as indescribable excitement, I knew this would be love at first sight.  Gucci Premiere Eau de Parfum is in high demand and in so many wish-lists, but as a luxury purchase, I thought I would write a mini review for you all.

So, let's talk packaging. On receiving this product, whether it is a gift to yourself or from a family member or friend you will be in awe of the beautiful packaging. If you are anything like myself the packaging is as equally important as the product itself. It is important not to judge a book by it's cover, but, you will be right on track. The box has a Gatsby feel, with a champagne colour and the double G symbols creating a unique pattern. The gold theme runs through onto the perfume bottle which is a reflective golden bottle with an attached decorative charm on the neck of the perfume bottle. Again, the Gucci signature is on the bottle stopper, and gives an immediate luxurious feel.

So, onto the most important part. The scent.  Scents are unique to each person, but what I can say about this perfume is that it is a sophisticated scent: If you are one for fruit scents this is probably not for you. This scent is rather woods, giving a musky tone, yet with citrus undertones from the orange blossom and bergamot. This is a feminine, natural yet sophisticated scent that people from the age of 21+ would appreciate. I am drawn to this fragrance for more glamorous occasions, which is mimicked in the extravagant packaging and alluring scent.

We have the 75ml which retails at £77.00 from Debenhams, so make sure you read this review and get a tester before you buy. This is also available at most department stores.

How do you rate the perfume???
